This design has been on the needles awhile. Or, rather, for the past 4 months it's been sitting in my dorm room waiting for me to knit the last 15 rows of a sleeve and I finally got down to it last night.

This is called Jorah Hadley, it's a simple tee kind of top that, depending on the yarn choice, can be appropriate for most seasons. The contrasting color will highlight certain spots of the torso to make this top feminine, but overall it's a very simple top to knit.

That's a close up of the bustband detail.

And this is the ribbing done on the body -- not just your average 3 x 2 ribbing, however. Has a little more texture in it and a bit of color to break it up.

Sorry there's a lack of updating lately. Finishing up classes, finals week, college social life, and returning home for winter break has eaten up a lot of my time lately. Fortunately for me and unfortunately for my knitting, I'll be back at college-home for New Year's Eve and don't know if I'll have much time for knitting/blogging.

Rustic Sea Cropped Pullover

A basic cropped pullover that can be modified for any cable, ribbing, lace, or other pattern you'd like to try out. Suitable when you don't have the patience of altering a design that already has a pattern worked into it.

Materials
2 skeins of Araucania Magallanes (or similar gauge yarn)
US 6 29" circular needles
US 6 double pointed needles
4.00 mm (G) crochet hook
stitch markers
tapestry needles

Body
Sl1, m1, knit to first sm, transfer all sleeve stitches to scrap yarn, join front with back and knit to next sm, transfer sleeve stitches to scrap yarn, join back to front and k to one before end, m1, k1, cast on 5 stitches, pm, and join to other front side.

Knit body in round for 6 inches, then knit 14 rows of k2, p1 (or chosen) ribbing. On rows 9, 11, and 13 k2tog on each side under the arms. Bind off.

Sleeves
Transfer sleeve stitches from scrap yarn to dpns. Either pick up a few stitches at the underarm or seam this up later, depending on personal preferences. Place marker at beginning of row.

Knit in round for 4 rows. Then knit k2, p1 (or chosen) ribbing for 4 rows. Bind off loosely.

Neckline
Single crochet tightly around the neckline, then slip stitch a second row around. When reaching an inside corner, skip the corner stitch. On outside corners, crochet twice in the corner stitch.

Duero, River Duero, no one comes down to greet you

River Duero Fingerless Gloves

I used Tahki's classic cotton, but you can use anything that gives you a similar gauge.

To fit for a wider wrist/hand, add stitches in groups of 4 to accomodate the pattern stitch. Gloves can be lengthened by working more repeats of pattern set before starting on thumb gusset.

Materials:

1 skein of Tahki cotton classic (or like yarn) in Color A

1 skein of Tahki cotton classic (or like yarn) in Color B

US#6 double-pointed needles

stitch marker

tapestry needle

Gauge:

5.5 st per inch, rows are unnecessary
